The company’s main fields of activity encompass Defense systems, ATC systems, Satellite Technologies, Telecommunications, Transport and Info-mobility, IT and Environmental Systems. Vitrociset provides high added-value services all year round, 24 hours a day.
VITROCISET plays a key role in the Research, Technology and Innovation, and it is a winner competitor in the R&T competitive calls issued by National and EU/NATO organizations, operating in an excellent R&T European network composed by institutions, universities, research centers, SMEs and large companies. In particular, the aim of the VITROCISET Corporate Research and Development Center (CR&D) - whose headquarter is in Rome - is proposing innovative solutions with high added value able to respond and to anticipate its customers’ needs and to strengthen its presence in an increasingly competitive international contest. Therefore, R&D is focused on the building of scientific networks and on opening outwards to foster creativity, according to a model in which innovation is created locally but with an international overview.
Security, Defence, Space, Transportation, Logistics, Environment/Energy and ICT are the thematic areas of the numerous R&D projects that animate the Center. Some projects are particularly significant for technologic, social and economic impacts: TASS (Total Airport Security System); NI2S3 (Net-centric Information & Integration Services for Security System); MEDUSA (Multi Sensor Data Fusion Grid for Urban Situational Awareness); SNIFF (Sensor Network Infrastructure for Factors).
Finally, VITROCISET is also involved in current Italian Research & Technology Platforms, for defining the Strategic Research Agenda, as well as in the Industrial Advisor Study Group funded by NATO RTO.
