The Nimbus company, headquartered in Torino (Italy), has been developing new flying platforms
based on innovative hybrid design (Worldwide Patent), with manned and unmanned capabilities,
combining the features
and the performances of a dirigible and a conventional aircraft. The currently developed platforms
are light UASs (unmanned aerial systems).
Moreover, new versions, already under development, will feature increased dimensions and different
operation mode (unmanned, optionally piloted, manned). Nimbus platforms combine many
capabilities as heavy payload, easy piloting, high security with a new, cost effective and more
environmentally responsible approach to aerial work. Nimbus products can be useful for info-mobility,
monitoring and surveillance tasks in normal and emergency scenarios.
The Nimbus aerial platforms combine the positive characteristics of dirigibles and conventional
aircrafts with STOL capability. This unique concept permits to deploy rapidly the vehicle to a local
area without any airport facilities, and to be operational in minutes. Nimbus provide an innovative,
safe and ultra-light aircraft vehicle capable to guarantee an appropriate coverage of the specific
Nimbus can offer its experience in UAV design and its platform can be customized simply and
economically with a varied range of different payloads to satisfy every kind of needs, and it can be
employed by anyone after a quick training program. Nimbus was established in 2006, now it counts
more than 10 employees with 30 years old average working mainly in R&D activities. Italian Flight
