Core competencies

The University Consortium of Pordenone is a legal association composed of the Province, The
Chamber of Commerce and the Town Hall. It is a non-profit organization and has the specific role of coordinating courses, master’s degree programs and specialization courses, set up in Pordenone by the Universities of Trieste, Udine, Rome, Milan and Trento. Furthermore it has a hand in planning and organizing advanced training courses. It is aware of regional needs and its purpose is to provide relevant education to the population.
Consortium has extensive expertise in management of University and Training Courses and maintains an excellent relationship with the Regional SMEs. As regards the wood sector, it has organized the International Double Master’s Degree of Science in Production Engineering and Management – the only Engineering Course relating to woodworking in Italy.
The University Consortium, in partnership with leading local companies, has been able to analyze
trends within the sector, thus providing an always up-to-date level of teaching and research. It is
characterized by specific subjects, which are shared with Unindustria Programmi Pordenone. The
curriculum is supported, by, among others, Federlegno-Furniture, the District Association of Livenza and other sponsoring companies.
In addition we have academic programs relating to “Industrial Design” with ISIA Roma Design,
Mechanical Engineering with The University of Udine, a Master’s Program in Lean Manufacturing with The University of Trieste, and a specialization Course in Project and Lean Management, hosted by the Consortium itself.
