Core competencies

The Centre for Science, Society and Citizenship (CSSC) is an independent, non-partisan, research centre devoted to human impact of emerging technologies. By taking an interdisciplinary approach, CSSC explores social, cultural and ethical implications of emerging technologies in various fields (e.g., homeland security, biometrics and autoID, smart ambient, ubicomp, cloud computer, disaster preparedness, public health, eInclusion). We focus on the needs of policy makers and those who advise them. Our track-record of researching, partnering and networking has made us a leading European institution in the area of science and society.
