The Millimeter Wave Technologies group in Haifa is part of IBM Research division. The bulk activity of the group is in
the field of advanced mm-wave design in IBMs Si and SiGe processes. The group focus is in the development of
system-on-chip solutions for wireless communications, radar, and passive and active imaging in sub-THz and THz
ranges. The group’s skills include advanced antenna and packaging design for development of a complete end to end
system-in-package solution. The group consists of 20 researchers, 7 Ph.D. and additional members with advanced
degrees in electrical engineering.
The group is supported by an onsite mmWave characterization laboratory with on and off wafer measurement
capabilities up to 150 GHz, as well as an optical bench for the THz range. An anechoic chamber is employed for
antenna measurements at frequencies ranging from tens of GHz to THz.
