Ruđer Bošković Institute (RBI), founded in 1950, is the largest and most renowned scientific institution in Croatia
regarding the fields of natural and technical sciences. The Institute is also the leading and internationally most
competitive Croatian institute by virtue of its participation in international research projects, such as the IAEA and EC
FP5-7 , Horizon 2020 programs funded by the European Commission, NATO, NSF, SNSF, DAAD and other international
scientific foundations.
Centre for Informatics and Computing of RBI was involved in many FP6 and FP7 and Horizon 2020 projects and other
projects oriented to distributed computing, high-speed computing, high throughput computing, high productive
computing, big data, virtual laboratory, scientific visualization and providing eScience platform and services based on
Cloud, Fog and Dew Computing . The strong point is put on the contemporary multidisciplinary and multi-institutional
scientific research and collaboration, based on modern technologies and informatics which have resulted in the
development of eScience technologies on the basis of Information Communication Science Technology - ICST.
