Core competencies

Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) is the specialized body of central public administration, exercising
law duties
concerning protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms, public and private property, public
order,
preventing and combating antisocial acts, compliance with the legal regime of State border and
foreigner’s border,
fire safety and civil protection of people and goods.
Directorate General Logistics (DGL) is the unit of Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) central
body, which
manages logistics system at institutional level.
The overall objective of DGL is to increase capacity of ministry logistics system by providing a unified
internal
regulation and to coordinate efficiently logistics.
Management and coordination of research - development - innovation (RDI) and standardization in
MIA (under which
lies the national police, gendarmerie, border police, emergency situations, etc.), is one of the main
responsibilities of
DGL, along with those related to weapons and special equipment area, transport and own property
asset management.
