Project Description | Various visions of the future and global trends provoke different reactions from governments to their security systems. The prospect of intensive human migrations caused by climate change, water deficit, conflicts, and population growth prompts states to adapt the security measures at the borders in advance. The dynamic development of technology encourages the government to use them more and more in border control and surveillance. Both – governments and companies try to predict and better understand the future and they can find more and more common points of interests based on new technologies production and application. The main aim of my project is to discuss one of the future-oriented technlology analysis – foresight technology reffering it to border security system. This analysis is to identify future technology developments and their interactions with society, state’s policy to guide actions towards more desirable future. It also allows the analysis of various effects of the application of new technologies on society, the environment and the economy. An empirical reference will be the actions undertaken by Frontex in cooperation with enterprises aimed at the application of new cantrols and surveillance technologies at the EUs external borders. |
