gvSIG Association (gvSIG)

The gvSIG Association is an open international and non-profit association composed of (SMEs) and organizations (universities, geographic institutes, technological institutes, etc.) with international prestige on Free and Open Source Software for Geospatial. It develops business and its benefits the reverts into the sustainability of the gvSIG Project .
European Comission has awarded gvSIG Association in 2017 for the best open source project in Europe (“Share and Reusing Awards”). In 2015, 2016 and 2017 gvSIG Association was awarded with “NASA Europa Challenge”.
The gvSIG Association offers services with the maximum professional guarantee, counting on experts with renowned international prestige in geomatic and a group of references that guarantee it. The gvSIG Association has carried out projects in different sectors, like the Spatial Data Infrastructure for organizations as Uruguay Government, Tocatins State of Brazil, the General Directorate of Civil Protection and Emergencies (Spain), Government of Córdoba (Argentina), etc., the development of GIS solutions applied to emergencies, security, education, agriculture, etc. or the analysis through geoprocessing techniques for urban settlements for United Nations and New York University.
The philosophy of the gvSIG Association is the knowledge transfer to the client, delivering them binaries, source code, documentation..., and giving a complete training of the provided services.

The gvSIG Association participates and collaborates with different forums and organizations: OSGeo, OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium), ICA, member of the Normalization Technical Committee 148 of AENOR (ISO 19115/ AEN/CTN148) -called “Digital Geographic Information”-, GODAN, IDEE (Spatial Data Infrastructure of Spain), Geosur, GeoForAll, RDA, etc.
