Core competencies

Warsaw is the capital and largest city of Poland. It is considered as an Alpha global city, a major international tourist destination and a significant cultural, political and economic hub. The City of Warsaw provides wide range of public services for its inhabitants.
Public transport in Warsaw is managed and supervised by the Public Transport Authority (ZTM), which is a budgetary unit of the Capital City of Warsaw. Established in 1992, it has set up new standards in Poland by separating organization and controlling of public transport (PT) services from the operational tasks. ZTM is responsible for planning, organizing and coordination of the PT (network, timetable, etc.) in Warsaw and in cooperating communities in the metropolitan area (34).
Acting on behalf of the City of Warsaw ZTM organizes PT in the Warsaw agglomeration and plays an active role in the process leading to the creation and implementation of sustainable transport policy. Participation in international projects gives us chance to get familiar with new and innovative solutions aimed to improve public transport services and increase level of satisfaction of our passangers. It is also a good chance to exchange knowledge with our partners from other European cities. Our experience in PT development can be helpful in actions aimed to integrate many fields of public transport in one efficiently working system. Being the member of the consortium allows us to test in practice new business strategies and innovations.
