Core competencies
Secure Business Austria (SBA) is the first Austrian competence center focusing on organizational and technical aspects of IT-Security: Secure business processes, risk and cost/benefit analysis of IT-Security portfolios and compliance issues are main pillars of our organizational research. SBA was founded by the Vienna University of Technology, Graz University of Technology and University of Vienna. In our second research phase from 2010 to 2017, the Vienna University of Economics and Business has joined the center as a fourth full academic partner. SBA has four main areas of research: (1) Governance, Risk and Compliance, (2) Data Security and Privacy, (3) Secure Coding and Code Analysis, and (4) Hardware and Network Security. Additionally we are participating in several national and international projects covering a broad range of topics in the field of IT-Security and in the organization of the International Conference on Availability, Reliability and Security (ARES).
