Core competencies
The aerospace Optics Group is active since 1998 in the development of laser based analyzers for the detection of specific target molecules in gaseous or liquid samples. These devices have been used both on the ground (laboratory, fixed locations, vehicles), and on board of stratospheric platforms.
Target gases have been methane (breath analysis, leak finder, environmental monitoring); HCl, dioxins and furans (incinerators exhausts); H2O, NO2, HNO3, CO (stratospheric measurements); H2S (geothermal energy exploitation); CO2 (environmental monitoring, biology, intrusion detection); C2H2 and NO (spectroscopy).
The typical features of these analyzers are selectivity, low detection level, high resolution, fast response.
The group has several devices and laser sources in the near-, middle- and far-infrared.
