Core competencies

General Inspectorate of Romanian Police is an end-user with national authority in the field of crime prevention and
law enforcement in the following areas (national coordination):
- Countering organized crime and terrorism: drug trafficking, human/migrants trafficking, cybercrime, money
laundering for financing terrorism, investigation of terrorism;
- Crime intelligence analysis: open source analysis , operational analysis, social network analysis, GEOINT;
- Special operations: electronic surveillance, covert operations, HUMINT;
- Criminal investigation: investigating crimes against persons, including hate crimes, and crimes against proprety;
- Countering economical and financial crime;
- National Forensics Institute;
- Public order activities, including community policing;
- SWAT, CBRNe, pyrotechnic intervention;
- Law enforcement for protection of archeological sites, natural heritage (green policing), cultural goods.
