Core competencies
COOSS is located in Ancona (Marche Region - Central Italy) and is a Non-profit Business Provider for Care and Social
Services. Since 1979, it provides health social and care services (both home services and daily centres, residential
facilities, etc.) addressed to persons in need such as elderly people, persons with physical and mental health
disabilities, children, migrants etc., all over the Marche Region. COOSS has over 3000 members/employees who
provide services to approximately 8,000 users. Since 1993 the Department of Research and Training (officially
recorded as Research Institute by the Italian Ministry of University and Research in 2012) has been participating in
EU and National research projects on current and emerging social phenomena, identifying and testing innovative
approaches at National and European level through the transfer and application of know-how at the local level.
COOSS EXPERTISE:
- Design and development of innovative health, social care, educational and community services
- Training and Education for health care social profiles, formal and informal caregivers and end-users
- Collaboration to or leading national and international projects
- Analysis of the needs/expectations of users/beneficiaries and definition of possible solutions
- Research and development of models and processes of social intervention and training
- Pilot experimentation, validation and testing of innovative solutions and approaches (also large scale pilots)
- Implementation of campaigns for the dissemination, awareness raising, information and promotion of research
activities
